The Pastel Suburbia Puzzle was illustrated by Vienna based artist Ana Popescu, and inspired by the architecture of Tim Burton’s 1990 film Edward Scissorhands.
The pastel, suburban neighbourhood that was home to the Boggs family was both idyllic and paranoid. With generic, characterless houses all painted in the same four colours (sea-foam green, dirty flesh, butter, and dirty blue), immaculate topiary and undersized windows, it was the perfect setting for a surreal story about a young man who has scissor blades for hands.
